Time for renewal
You are reading renewed raito.net pages. Since raito.net was opened in 2002, it has remained the same until 20/01/2006. Then at the early part of 2006 we made big efforts to renew raito.net. Now, late 2009, it is time for the renewal again.
This time we do it for a new and fresh look. Though we must say that again, over several years, the site structure has became a bit too complex and hence difficult to maintain. Anyway lots of old material is been reused - both text and pictures.
It takes some time to refresh all the content. Please be patient and visit us frequently for new updates and content.
Autum is here again
Finally, after a long and hot summer, the autum has arrived. This means work both at the garden and harbour with m/s Katrina. This is mostly now been done. Now we can relax and wait for the first snow and gold winter temperatures.

In the above the last blooming rose in your garden. It is Peach Rose. Peach Rose is perfect rose to show sociability, friendship, gratitude, desire and appreciation. In addition they can also be used to convey admiration or sympathy.
Where we live
Currently our home is in Finland. However, we have lived in California and shall move to Spain at some point of time. We love sun shine and blue skies. That is why we are heading to Spain. Not to live there for the whole year. Just the winter months as there is nothing on the earth which beats nordic summer.
Our Home in Finland
We live in the Shouthern Finland in the city of Espoo. This is a beautiful place at the bank of Gulf of Finland. One could not dream about better place!

California
We have lived in California from 1982 to 1984 and then again from 2000 to 2002. Alltogether close to 4.5 years. First time in Sunnyvale and then in west San Jose. These years have special value in our memories and hearts!

During these years we did a lot of travelling. I assume that we have seen more California and USA than most of Americans? From time to time we may publish herein some picures from those years. Unfortenately back in 1982-1984 there were no digital cameras.
... holiday home in Spain
The city of Torrevieja lies about 50 km south west of Alicante. The climate in Torrevieja is stable, belonging to the temperate Continental type, with predominantly mild temperatures in winter as in summer. The coldest months are January and February, with temperatures ranging from 12 to 16 degrees and the hottest months are July and August with temperatures ranging from 28 to 35 degrees. Torrevieja has a micro-climate which marks it out from other neighbouring towns. The proximity of two salt lakes work in favour of good climatic conditions with regard to both torrential rainfall and strong winds.
Villa Raito
Our holiday home! Villa Raito is located in the popular Aquas Nuevasin area, just 300 meters from the beach and 1500 meters from the downtown Torrevieja.

Hobbies
m/s Katrina
Baltic Sea with its archipelago is an ideal place for boating. The distancies are relatively short and the days are long. Further, for the most of the summer the sea is calm.
Unlike one would easily think, boating is an all year hobby. In the fall, time is used to prepare the boat for the winter. Winter is an ideal time for studing navigation and planning for the next summer. And then in the spring efforts are carried out to wash, polish and fix the boat for the summer fun.

Motorcycling
The passion for the road, the thrill and the freedom is contagious. There is nothing comparable out there on the asphalt! This is a great way of putting the stress behind and get relaxed. In the summer time I ride when ever possible. To the office and back! To the near by city for a cup of coffee. To the country side just for the fun. ... not to mention long haul travelling!
